Background:
Born in 1968, Jake Morgan grew up in rural Virginia in an upper middle class family. His father was a successful freelance editor and armature tinkerer. Jake's mother left when he was 4, leaving Jake, his father and his older brother Nick with almost no female supervision.

From a young age, Jake had a love affair with speed. He loved to go fast. He sought out the highest hills to ride his bike or his skateboard or his roller skates down. He always wanted to go faster.

Summers were spent at the family's time share in the outer banks of North Carolina where Jake learned to ride a jet ski and a sail board. Jake, Nick and their father spent an entire summer souping up an old power boat so they could water ski. Jake still wanted to go faster.

As he grew older, Jake's bike gave way to a dirt bike and then an ATV, both salvaged and rebuilt by his father. He and Nick tore through the woods of Virginia and the dunes of the outer banks, always trying to go faster.

In 1984, just seven months after he turned 16, Jake's drivers license was suspended for the first time. Deprived of his wheels, Jake took pilot lessons at the local municipal airport and never missed his car. He earned his pilots license at age 17.

On the advice of his guidance counselor, after graduating High School, Jake enrolled in the Air Force ROTC program at Virginia Tech. Hoping to fly the fastest planes in the world, Jake was advised to study mathmatics. His driver's license was suspended again during his junior year. After earning his degree in Applied Mathmatics, Jake enlisted and qualified for Flight School in 1988.

In 1990 he graduated Flight School third in his class with the call-sign 'Hagar' after Sammy Hagar who sang "Can't Drive Fifty-Five"-- Jake had recently had his license suspended for the third time. Assigned to the 4404th Fighter Wing, Jake flew F-15-Es out of Prince Sultan Air Base during Desert Shield, but he still wanted to go faster.

After the war, Jake was accepted into the revived SR-71 program. In 1996 he was halfway through the training, and had just finished submitting the NASA application for astronaut training, when an off-duty motorcycle accident ruined his left knee and ended his career.

With a medical discharge, a cane, another suspended drivers license, and no prospect of ever breaking the sound barrier again, Jake moved to Miami where his brother Nick had opened a custom speed boat shop. Joining his brother's business, Jake soon found satisfaction in building and test driving high performance cigarette boats in the Caribbean waters.

The fact that most of their clients were drug runners did not escape the notice of the Feds. In 1998 the DEA recruited Jake as an informant and got more than they bargained for. Jake and Nick went the extra mile for 'select' clients building custom race boats with concealed weapons, smuggling compartments and counter measures. Jake started running drugs, guns and other contraband for his new friends... by boat and plane since he'd lost his driver's license again. More than once he found himself in a shootout with rival gangs, and he lost track of how many stolen boats he and Nick had chopped. Jake ingratiated himself to some of Miami's top players and scored invitations to the most exclusive parties. By 2001, he found himself a regular in the Miami drug scene, rubbing elbows with a king-pin.

Jake brought undercover agents into parties as his guest. He watched their backs and made excuses when they got 'lost' in the oppulent mansions. He planted backdoor viruses on computers and GPS transmitters in cars and boats. He reported names, dates, events and secrets until the DEA had enough evidence to take down one of Miami's top cokelords.

The DEA was about to recruit Jake as a full agent when Omega Sector snatched him up first. They offered an experimental surgery to replace his shattered knee and an opportunity to go really fast. They even said they'd try to get his drivers license reinstated.

After finishing his rehabilitation, Jake started training in earnest. He wants to prove that he has what it takes to be a real agent, and not just a well trained chaufer, and so picks up bits of training on a wide variety of topics with no real specialization. He lives in rural Allegany County Maryland where the cop/driver ratio is low and the country roads are long and twisted. In his spare time he still likes to go fast on skis, skateboards, bob sleds, or anything else that will put the wind in his hair.
